Crusty Old Viking Philosopher...

As I approach my 5th decade in this existence, I am finding numerous things to be true...

*People that were assholes when I was younger are still assholes now that I'm older.

*Being with the same woman for 30 years is awesome.

*The ratio of people who think for themselves to stupid people appears to be the same now as when I was able to first notice it when I was 20.

*It is soooo wonderful to see one's children become adults and they are intelligent, independent, creative, and loving.

*Being a non-standard blockhead of a male annoyed the hell out of people when I was younger. Now that I'm older, it appears even more that society expects me to be some sort of twit with a stick up my ass. Well, I'm not going to apologize. I am still just fine with thumbing my nose at the conventions and expectations that men are supposed to be. If anything, age has set me in my ways even more.
